Answers to common questions about working with GuusCode.
What does GuusCode do exactly?›
GuusCode builds modern websites, web apps and tools that are fast, clear and easy to manage. From simple portfolios to custom software, GuusCode helps you from idea to live result.
Who is GuusCode for?›
For startups, small businesses, content creators and freelancers who want something professional without fuss. A website, portfolio or tool that truly works.
Where does the name GuusCode come from?›
It’s literally my name (Guus) with “Code” and a small wink in the domain: guusco.de 😄. Simple, human and clear.
Why choose a small studio like GuusCode instead of a large agency?›
You get direct contact with the developer, short lines, and custom work that remains affordable. No unnecessary layers or vague costs.
Where is GuusCode located?›
GuusCode works fully online, with clients in the Netherlands and beyond. Everything can be arranged via video or chat. An in‑person meeting in the Netherlands is possible if needed.
Does GuusCode work alone or with others?›
GuusCode works independently, but has a network of designers, writers and developers to scale up if needed.
Can I manage my own website?›
Yes, always. GuusCode ensures you can easily change text, images or pages without technical knowledge, if desired through a dashboard.
Can I move my site later to another host?›
Yes, the code is entirely yours and you’re not locked in. Hosting with GuusCode is strictly optional.
How secure is my website?›
All sites run via HTTPS, with regular updates and security checks.
What if something breaks?›
GuusCode offers maintenance and support. Small fixes are often handled immediately; for larger projects we agree on SLA or maintenance hours.
How often are updates done?›
That depends on your plan. GuusCode offers flexible maintenance options, from “only when needed” to monthly updates.
Is there a price difference between Dutch and English?›
No, only if you want two completely separate versions with duplicate content.
Do I really need a website if I only use social media?›
Yes—social media is great for visibility, but not for control. Your own site is your online “home base” that you fully own.
What does “custom web app” mean?›
A web app is an online application that does more than a regular website—think dashboards, calculators, booking systems, etc.
Can I add extra languages later?›
Yes, the system supports multilingual. English, Dutch, German—anything is possible.
Which languages does GuusCode work in?›
GuusCode builds websites in Dutch and English. Ideal if you have an international audience or want to start multilingual.
How does the process work when I work with GuusCode?›
We start with a short introduction, discuss your needs, give a price estimate and schedule development. You get updates along the way, and after delivery hosting and maintenance can be arranged if desired.
Can GuusCode also improve an existing website?›
Certainly. GuusCode helps with optimisation, faster load times, redesign or technical fixes for existing sites if they fit our stack.
Does GuusCode also do logos or design?›
Design can be included with the package, but GuusCode doesn’t have an in‑house graphic designer. For branding we collaborate with designers or use your existing style.
What’s the difference between a website and a web app?›
A website is mainly informational (like a portfolio or business site).
A web app does more, for example login, calculations, form processing, etc.
Can I expand with more features later?›
Yes, everything is built with scalability in mind. Start small, grow along.
Is an online store also possible?›
Yes, small online stores or integrations with existing systems are possible.
Does GuusCode build everything from scratch or use templates?›
GuusCode builds everything from scratch, but uses modern frameworks (like Next.js) for speed and reliability. No standard template sites unless explicitly requested by the client.
Does GuusCode also build portfolios or Linktree‑style pages?›
Certainly—one of the most popular services for creators. More beautiful, faster and more personal than Linktree.
What if I don’t have a domain or hosting yet?›
No problem. As long as you don’t have a domain yet, development will run on a GuusCode subdomain—for example https://yourname.guusco.de. GuusCode will gladly help you set up a domain and DNS. If desired, it’s possible to host your website long‑term on the guuscoded.it domain. See it as a watermark—this is free.
Which technologies does GuusCode use?›
GuusCode works with modern tools like Next.js, React, TypeScript and Node.js—the technology that large platforms also use, tailored to your project.
How fast do websites load?›
Very fast thanks to caching, smart code and optimised images. Google PageSpeed is happy—and so are your visitors.
Does GuusCode also do SEO optimisation?›
Yes, technical SEO is included by default—think meta tags, speed, sitemap and structure. You can expand to content SEO later.
Does GuusCode also help with email settings or Google Analytics?›
Yes, GuusCode can help connect analytics, email domains, basic SEO tools and other integrations.
How much does a website cost with GuusCode?›
That depends on what you need. Small sites start around a few hundred euros; larger projects are higher. You always get an upfront price indication—request a quote.
Do I have to pay everything at once?›
No, usually it’s done in two parts: 50% at the start, 50% upon delivery.
How long does a project take on average?›
On average 4–8 weeks, depending on size. Smaller projects can be completed within 1–2 weeks.
What if I’m in a hurry?›
GuusCode offers rush options depending on complexity. Feel free to contact us to see what’s possible.
What’s cheaper: building a site yourself or having one made?›
Building it yourself seems cheaper but costs time and often results in slow or insecure sites. A professional site pays for itself quickly.
Why is a fast website important?›
Fast sites keep visitors engaged longer and rank better in Google. Every second counts.
How do I make my website more findable in Google?›
Good technology, strong copy and relevant links. GuusCode helps with the technical part; you can work on content.
What does responsive design mean?›
A site that automatically adapts to every screen—mobile, tablet or desktop. That’s standard with GuusCode projects.
What’s the difference between hosting and domain?›
The domain is your address (guusco.de); hosting is the place where your site actually runs.
How often should you refresh a website?›
On average every 2 to 3 years, depending on trends and technology.
Can a simple website still be professional?›
Certainly. Minimalism + good design + speed = professional. More isn’t always better—it depends on what you want to convey and what fits you.
Why shouldn’t I use a free website builder?›
Free sounds nice, but you get ads, limited features and poor SEO. Professional work is an investment in your brand.
Is a CMS needed for every website?›
Not always. Small sites can go without a CMS, larger content‑heavy sites work better with one (e.g., Sanity, Strapi, etc.).
Can GuusCode build a website even if I have no technical knowledge?›
Yes—that’s the idea. You provide input; GuusCode handles the rest.
Does a good website really help get more clients?›
Yes. A fast, clear site increases trust and conversion—especially combined with SEO and social media.
Can I use my own copy and photos?›
Gladly! You know your brand best—GuusCode helps present them beautifully.
What happens if I’m not satisfied with the result?›
We discuss it right away. Adjustments are a normal part of the process. In the end it has to truly be your site. You’re involved throughout development.
Can I connect my website to other tools?›
Yes—think Google Forms, external APIs, Mailchimp, payment modules, etc.
What if I grow in the future?›
No problem—the site grows with you. You don’t need to start over.
How do I know which type of site I need?›
GuusCode helps you choose based on your goals and budget. We keep it practical and honest.
How can I get started with GuusCode?›
Just send a message or fill in the quote form. You’ll get a quick response with a clear plan and price.
